SVRLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... South central Carroll County in north central Maryland... Howard County in central Maryland... Southwestern Baltimore County in northern Maryland... * Until 1130 PM EDT. * At 1041 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Mount Airy, or 7 miles northeast of Damascus, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. * Locations impacted include... Columbia, Pikesville, Elkridge, Historic Ellicott City, Ellicott City, Catonsville, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Owings Mills, Eldersburg, Milford Mill, Lochearn, Arbutus, Sykesville, Ilchester, Garrison, Jessup, Hanover, Henryton, and West Friendship.
