Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Citrus, Levy and Marion
Counties.

.Due to recent heavy rainfall water levels remain elevated along the
Horse Creek near Arcadia.

The Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon has been steadily rising since
July, and on September 15 reached flood stage. The cause of the high
water along the Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon is due to excessive
hydrilla growth (from the river bottom to the water surface) along a
4.5 mile stretch of river between US 41 and Lake Rousseau.  The
hydrilla is acting like a dam and holding water back, causing water
levels to rise.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Horse Creek near Arcadia at SR 72.

* WHEN...Until Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, The access road to Hidden Oak is
impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 12.4 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:30 PM EDT Sunday was 12.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
tomorrow afternoon and continue falling to 10.6 feet Wednesday
evening.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 12.4
feet on 08/30/1994.
