* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and southeast New
Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico,
Eastern Lincoln County and South Central Mountains. In east central
New Mexico, De Baca County. In southeast New Mexico, Chaves County
Plains and Southwest Chaves County.

* WHEN...Through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are
possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rounds of showers and storms will continue through Thursday
night. While rainfall will generally be light to moderate, heavy
rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will have the potential to
produce rapid runoff. Soils are becoming increasingly saturated
from persistent rainfall over the past couple of days, further
elevating the risk of flash flooding. Rainfall amounts will
generally range from 1 to 2 inches, with isolated totals up to 4
inches.
- Rapid runoff and flash flooding will be most likely in complex
terrain, below recent burn scars, low-lying areas, urban areas,
normally dry arroyos, near rivers and streams, and in locations
where the ground is already saturated from recent heavy rainfall.
