...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida...

Horse Creek Near Arcadia at SR 72 affecting DeSoto County.

Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Levy, Citrus and Marion
Counties.

.Due to recent heavy rainfall water levels remain elevated along the
Horse Creek near Arcadia, and is expected to drop below flood stage
overnight.

The Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon has been steadily rising since
July, and on September 15 reached flood stage. The cause of the high
water along the Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon is due to excessive
hydrilla growth (from the river bottom to the water surface) along a
4.5 mile stretch of river between US 41 and Lake Rousseau.  The
hydrilla is acting like a dam and holding water back, causing water
levels to rise.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...Horse Creek near Arcadia at SR 72.

* WHEN...Until late tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, The access road to Hidden Oak is
impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 12.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:30 PM EDT Monday was 12.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late
this evening and continue falling to 9.8 feet Thursday evening.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 12.0
feet on 09/07/2003.
