The National Weather Service in Jackson has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Harlan County in southeastern Kentucky...

* Until 900 PM EDT.

* At 753 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated new thunderstorms producing
heavy rain upstream of the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of
rain have already fallen from earlier storms. Additional rainfall
amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding could begin again shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Harlan, Loyall, Wallins Creek, Rosspoint, Golden Ash, Kitts,
Clovertown, Harlan Gas, Baxter, Putney, Sunshine, Bledsoe, Big
Laurel, White Star, Pine Mountain, Tremont, Nolansburg, Arthur,
Kentenia and Totz.
