At 442 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing moderate rain over the western portion of the Frijoles Burn Scar as well as areas west of the burn scar to including Cundiyo. Between 0.50 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen over the western portions of the burn scar, with up to 1.5 inches along Highway 503 southwest of Cundiyo. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.50 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact the Rio Frijoles, Rio Medio and Chimayo Creek as well as Camino del Canon, County Road 127 and Camino del Molino. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. Flooding will also impact Cundiyo and Highway 503. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Frijoles Burn Scar. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Frijoles Burn Scar.
