At 327 AM MDT, Another round of heavier rainfall is moving into the
southern Sacramento Mountains with rainfall rates of 0.50 to 1 inch
per hour over a broad, saturated area in complex terrain.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and rain gauge indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sacramento, Mayhill, Weed, Sixteen Springs, James Canyon, Cox
Canyon and Hay Canyon.

Thunderstorms extend from Mayhill to Sunspot, and out over the
Tularosa Basin. Rainfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour have been
observed in heavier downpours north of Timberon and near Mayhill.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Rio Penasco, Agua Chiquita Creek, Bluewater Creek, Dry Burnt
Canyon, Elk Canyon, Lower Portions of Hay Canyon, Cox Canyon, and
James Canyon.


The most serious flooding impacts will be in downstream locations
including Mayhill, Sacramento, and Weed.

There are some signs that precipitation will begin to diminish
between 4 AM and 5 AM, but runoff will continue for some time
afterwards.
