At 115 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village, Chimney Rock State Park, Bat Cave
and Gerton.

Flood stage is currently 7.43 feet at the Rocky Broad River near Bat
Cave. Homes and campgrounds near the river gage will begin to flood
if the river gets above 7.5 feet.
