...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT /NOON MDT/ TO 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ THURSDAY DUE TO WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR AREAS SOUTH AND WEST OF THE MISSOURI RIVER IN WESTERN AND SOUTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA... .Warm and breezy conditions are expected over western North Dakota Thursday, ahead of an approaching cold front. Temperatures are forecast to climb into the upper 80s, with afternoon humidities of 10 to 25 percent. Winds on Thursday afternoon are forecast to be westerly 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Due to the low humidity and breezy conditions with abundant dry vegetation, critical fire weather conditions are expected Thursday afternoon into early Thursday evening. The National Weather Service in Bismarck ND has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ Thursday. * AFFECTED AREA...Southwest and portions of northwest North Dakota. * TIMING...From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ Thursday. * WINDS...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 10 to 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly.
