* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southwest New Mexico, including the following areas, Lowlands of the Bootheel, Southwest Desert/Lower Gila River Valley, Uplands of the Bootheel and Upper Gila River Valley. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An early season back door cool front will interact with a late season plume of deep tropical moisture, bringing several rounds of thunderstorms with torrential downpours to the region Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. Repeated thunderstorms may tend to focus in one or two areas, resulting in higher end precipitation totals.
