Potential for Life Threatening Flash Flooding. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Brazos, Chambers, Coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston, Inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker and Waller. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - There is an increased danger to lives and property due to flash flooding. Flash flooding is likely and considerable flash flooding possible. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected through this evening. The highest flash flood risk is over portions of the Piney Woods, generally north of I-10 and along and east of I-45. Training feeder bands outside of that area are also likely. Flash flooding is equally possible with those areas too, but not as widespread of an area. Rainfall rates will exceed 3-4 inches per hour at times in the heaviest downpours, which can lead to flash flooding especially in urban and vulnerable areas. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
