.STORM INFORMATION...
At 11 AM ChST, the center of Super Typhoon Champi (29W) was located
near latitude 13.1N, longitude 143.1E. This was about 115 miles
west-southwest of Guam. Storm motion was west-northwest, 290
degrees, at 14 mph. Storm intensity was 150 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Super Typhoon Champi continues to move west-northwestward as the eye
pulls away from Guam coastal waters, with its outermost rainbands
occasionally crossing the island. Sustained winds hover around or
just below damaging tropical storm-force late this morning, with
occasional Typhoon-force gusts to around 75 mph. Champi's eye, and
the destructive conditions within its compact eyewall, narrowly
missed Guam early this morning, passing just 10 miles south of the
southern tip of the island at around 4:26 AM ChST. The eye remains
compact and very well-defined, with a width of around 5 miles. The
islands of Tinian and Saipan are well outside of the radius of
sustained tropical-storm force conditions, but damaging gusts to 45
mph are still occurring. The Tropical Storm Warning, and Typhoon
Watch, are no longer in effect for Tinian and Saipan.
