SMWMHX The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a * Special Marine Warning for... Waters from Cape Lookout to Surf City NC from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 500 PM EDT. * At 412 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 31 nm east of Wr4 to 35 nm south of 14 Buoy, moving northeast at 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.
