At 700 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Flooding reported in Lake Tanglewood. . Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Lake Tanglewood and Palo Duro Canyon. The Palo Duro Canyon Rim picked up about a half an inch in 10 minutes and the floor recently picked up an inch in just 15 minutes. Low lying areas need to take caution as these rain rates could lead to more significant flooding conditions in the Palo Duro Canyon area.
