...The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Texas... Neches River Near Alto affecting Cherokee, Houston, Angelina and Anderson Counties. For the Neches River...including Alto...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River near Alto. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Boat ramps and picnic areas near the river will begin to flood. Ranchers should move cattle and equipment near the river to higher ground. At 18.0 feet, Expect moderate to severe flooding of the heavily wooded floodplain. Boat ramps and picnic areas will be completely inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 3.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Thursday afternoon to a crest of 17.4 feet Friday morning.
