The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Garfield County in southern Utah...

* Until 945 PM MDT.

* At 843 PM MDT, the gauge on Pine Creek at Escalante reported flows
of up to 1090 cfs from earlier thunderstorms producing heavy rain
across Pine Creek Box Canyon. This water will continue to move
downstream into the Escalante River and through Upper Escalante
River Canyon. Between 0.75 and 2.25 inches of rain have fallen
today. Flash flooding is already occurring. This Flash Flood
Warning has been extended until 945 PM MDT.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot
canyons, and normally dry washes.
