...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota... Root River Near Houston affecting Houston County. ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota... South Branch Root River at Lanesboro affecting Fillmore and Houston Counties. .Much of the Root River Basin received 3 to 7 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Initial local runoff has likely already made it through the Lanesboro and Houston locations. Additional upstream runoff will likely hold Lanesboro around 10 to 12 feet through this evening as upstream water routes downstream. At Houston, the forecast carries uncertainty in how fast the water will route downstream. If routing is slower then forecast, expect the Houston crest to be around 14 to 15 feet. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...South Branch Root River at Lanesboro. * WHEN...Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, The river begins to overflow the left bank downstream from the foot bridge where the gage is located. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 12.9 feet this evening.
