At 1226 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Cary, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near... Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and RDU International around 1230 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Research Triangle, Falls Lake Boat Ramp, Gorman, William B Umstead State Park, and Parkwood. This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 181 and 183. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 278 and 287. Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 0 and 11. the Durham Freeway between Mile Markers 2 and 10.
