The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
Lake Ontario from Lower Niagara River to Hamlin Beach...
The Lower Niagara River...

* Until 815 PM EDT.

* At 713 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
waterspouts was located 17 nm west of Sunset Beach, or 22 nm
northeast of Niagara River, moving east at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
Thirty Mile Point, Youngstown, Niagara River, Olcott, Wilson,
Sunset Beach, and Fort Niagara.
