* WHAT...Urban areas and small streams flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...South Central Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina... Watauga County in northwestern North Carolina... Southwestern Wilkes County in northwestern North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 1000 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Several streams and rivers continue to rise due to recent heavy rain, including the Watauga River near the communities of Banner Elk and Foscoe, where multiple side roads crossing the river may remain flooded through 11 AM. These include Sleepy Hollow Lane, Clubhouse Drive, and Aldridge Road. Near the Town of Boone, portions of Deerfield Road and Bamboo Road are flooded and impassible. Other low-water crossings within the warning area also remain inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 826 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain has exited the warning area. However, between 4.5 and 7.5 inches of rain have fallen since Saturday morning, and runoff from heavy rain that fell since 6 AM continues to collect in area creeks and streams. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Flat Branch, Dugger Creek, Left Prong Stony Fork, Grassy Creek, Laurel Fork, Mill Creek, Meat Camp Creek, Elk Creek, Dutch Creek, Norris Fork, Fall Creek, Brushy Fork and Little Dugger Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
