Pea River near Ariton (US 231) affecting Dale and Coffee Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Pea River near Ariton (US 231). * WHEN...From this afternoon to late Monday night. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, The basement of a home on U.S. Highway 231 and the Pea River will be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 16.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Monday evening. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.6 feet on 09/27/1956. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
