The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
Maui County Leeward Waters...

* Until 345 AM HST.

* At 237 AM HST, a strong thunderstorm was located 14 nm southeast of
FAD Buoy P, or 40 nm west of Lanai Airport, moving northeast at 15
knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
