The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Mora County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 730 PM MDT.

* At 427 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Mora, Monte Aplanado, Canon and Ledoux as
well as the Rito Cebolla. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS
SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water
crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mora, Ledoux, Morphy Lake State Park, Monte Aplanado and
Golondrinas.

This includes State Road 518 between Mile Markers 19 and 21...and
near Mile Marker 29.

This includes the following recreation areas...
Morphy Lake State Park.

Flash flooding is expected in the Rito Cebolla. Stay away from river
banks.
