FFWABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Bernalillo County in central New Mexico... * Until midnight MDT. * At 902 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Eastern Albuquerque and Sandia Heights. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 160 and 168. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 221 and 230. This warning is primarily for the arroyos and diversion channels within the affected area due to the expected increase in rapidly flowing water. Please avoid arroyos, diversion channels and any other areas that are flooded.
